Extend-Vacation

  • Extend-Vacation: Weeks off extend the end date of study.
  • Vacations can be earned by studying for 3 or 6 months.
  • The period for taking a vacation is 2 weeks after 3 months of study or 1 month (4 weeks) after 6 months of study.
  • A 1-month (4-week) vacation after 6 months can be taken if a 2-week vacation after 3 months was not taken.
  • Vacation start does not need to be on a Monday.
  • A 2-week vacation can be taken again 3 months after the previous vacation.
  • A 1-month (4-week) vacation can be taken again 6 months after the previous vacation.
  • If the vacation spans semesters, an online advising day and registration for next semester’s classes (online) are required.
  • A 4-week vacation can be split into 1 week and 3 weeks or two 2-week periods, but not into four separate weeks.
  • A 2-week vacation can be split into two 1-week periods.
  • If a vacation is split, the remaining vacation must be used within 4 weeks of the end of the first half of the vacation. If not used, it is forfeited.
  • Applications for split vacations are made all at once.

  • After a vacation ends, you must return to school the next day.
  • If the vacation spans semesters, an online advising day and registration for next semester’s classes (online) are necessary.

Oversea Leave

  • Plane ticket reservations must be submitted to take Overseas Leave.
  • If changes are desired after applying for Overseas Leave but before leaving the country, it is possible if the plane reservation information is submitted together. However, in emergencies, the return date can be changed after leaving the country.

Sick Leave

  • Submission of a diagnosis from a U.S. medical doctor (MD) is required.
