Four Categories of Tuition

At Academia Language School, the fees vary according to the following four categories:

  1. New Students (including transfers) & Student Visa (F-1 Visa)
  2. Non-student Visa (ESTA, e-Visa, etc.)
  3. Kama’aina (U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders)
  4. Current ALS Students & Student Visa (F-1 Visa)

The difference between category 1, New Students, and category 4, Current ALS Students, lies in the “initial costs” and “minimum enrollment period,” though the tuition is the same.

1. New Students (including transfers) & Student Visa (F-1 Visa) Tuition

a non-refundable registration fee of $125 and a technology fee of $100 for New student.

Students studying on an F-1 Visa must attend a minimum of 20 hours of classes per week. The above fees meet the I-20 requirements necessary for the F-1 Visa.

The minimum enrollment period for an F-1 Visa is 8 weeks. Discounted rates apply depending on the length of the period from 8 to 48 weeks.

2. Non-student Visa (ESTA, e-Visa, etc.) Tuition

Non-student visas include ESTA (Visa Waiver Program), B2 (Tourist Visa), E Visa (Investor/Business Visa), and accompanying visas. Holders of these visas can study for up to 18 hours per week.

3. Kama’aina (U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders) Tuition

Prices include a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $125 and a technology fee of $100. Prices are tax-inclusive.

Local residents wishing to study English are eligible for Kama’aina rates. To qualify, students must present a photo ID with a local address, be a U.S. citizen, hold a Green Card, or possess a K-1 Visa.

4. Current ALS Students & Student Visa (F-1 Visa) Tuition

No initial costs are required if you are the current ALS student.

Accommodation Fees

Academia offers low-cost accommodation within walking distance of the school. We cater to a wide range of needs, from short-term students staying 1-2 weeks to those studying for over a year, as well as those who wish to find housing in Hawaii after arrival.
